How to price your Instagram reels

A simple way to set a rate card you can defend, whatever your follower count.

Start from your reach, not your follower count

Brands are paying for the people who will actually see and act on the content. Open your Instagram insights and note your average reel reach over the last 30 days. That number, not your follower count, is what your price should be built on.

If your average reach is well below your follower count, price closer to the reach. If reels regularly travel beyond your followers, you can price above it.

Use a base rate, then adjust

A common starting point in India is ₹0.10 to ₹0.20 per follower for a single reel, lower for a static post, and much lower for a story. Then adjust for three things:

  • Engagement: above 4% is strong for most accounts; price up.
  • Niche: finance, tech and education usually command more than general lifestyle.
  • Usage rights: if the brand wants to run your reel as an ad, charge extra for every month of usage.

Write it down and keep it consistent

Put your rates in one place and quote the same numbers to every brand. On NexaGuru your rate card stays on your profile, so brands see it before they request an intro and you don't negotiate from scratch each time.
